The people were the highlight ❤️

So grateful to be able to see friends from all walks of life on this trip!

🇨🇳 In 2009, I met JP studying abroad in China. This scarf I’m wearing was bought then!

🗽In 2015/2016, I met @konakafe through @dreamersdoers in NYC.

🌴In 2018, I met @lwellott at @summit in LA. And it just so happened she was coming out of a coffee shop and recognized me!

🇰🇭 In 2020, I met @kikowe of @cura_collective on a @fair.anita trip to Cambodia.

And now we’re all in Seattle!

The Anti-Ableism Series
Part 224

Excited to welcome Ko Im (@konakafe) to the series! Ko reminds us that removing the stigma and compassion can go a long way.

Video description/transcript: video starts with Tiffany and then Ko pops in and then focuses on Ko.
Tiffany: Do you want to be a better ally to disabled people?
Ko: I do. I’m Ko and I’m Tiffany’s friend and a mental health advocate. Mental illness is an invisible disability sometimes and I know there’s been a lot of movement in removing the stigma against mental health and other disabilities but I wish that it would become even more the norm, in offices and family discussions, everywhere. I also want us to be more compassionate, have learning opportunities for folks who might not know that what they’re saying is ignorant or offensive, and for us to just kind of dive in deeper to the humanity of things.”
