WHAT A WEEKEND FOR THE MAENADS!

While the three of us were teching and performing “For the Wives of Blue Beard” our very own @francescaopatron was doing her directing debut at Steppenwolf Theatre @steppenwolfthtr
for “Disposable” as part of the Destinos Festival!!!!

So proud of you Francesca!!!!🎉✨🎉

And somehow Zosia @kora_nowa
managed to work productions as movement director and assistant director with Francesca AND as our ensemble member for the Maenads!!! This girl was doing two techs at the same time.

Disposable is a beautiful and very needed production sharing the real life stories of workers. Written and performed by
Jasmin Cardenas @1jasmincardenas
who works with ActorsTEATRO to bring awareness to workers rights and our collective humanity. Please go and support her work!!!

For the Wives of Bluebeard
Sept 19th!!!
@3pm
@piventheatreworkshop
live music by @_violetsareblue_
donation based!

Folktales mirror the collective, as well as the individual, and are destined to transform with time and with the folk for whom they are for.

Bluebeard is a story about the internal and external predator. It is a story about sisterhood, curiosity, survival and autonomy. Author Clarissa Pinkola Estes reminds us that it is NOT a story about Bluebeard, but the story of a shared experience uniting women across time and space. As well as a reflection on the ways in which each and every one of us have been shackled to the laws of the patriarchy and gives us the tools necessary for the essential unshackling.

The threads of this story have been inside us for a very long time. Finally they are being woven together For the Wives of Bluebeard.
~ the Maenads

(we will also have you know that slide #2’s lore is a full circle moment situation. @_violetsareblue_ had an idea and asked @kora_nowa for an illustration for a potential tattoo back when they were in high school. and here they are weaving similar work together again! mad)
