I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately.

The last five years gave the gun industry a pretty interesting experiment. When everything was flying off the shelves, it was hard to tell who was actually building something and who was just standing in the room while everything went up.

Now the tide’s going back out, and we’re starting to see the difference.

Some of the brands that were everywhere during COVID are gone. Others seem to live on permanent sales and incentives. Then you’ve got smaller companies that used those years to build a real following and are growing now.

The one that really gets me is the huge “last chance” sale followed by the doors closing and customers wondering where their orders went.

I know what I’ve seen from my side of the industry, but I’m curious what you guys have noticed.

What brands do you think actually built something over the last five years? And which disappearances genuinely surprised you?
