🍽️ KOTA KIA | PORTHLEVEN 🌊

Our latest little CornwallSnacks stop! 🥰

We visited @kota_kai in Porthleven for the first time to celebrate a family birthday, and what a lovely meal we had! ❤️

We went as a larger group, and everyone tried something different and loved their food. A special shout-out to the mussels and steak, which were definite favourites! Even the little ones who joined us loved their meals too. 👏

🌾 Gluten-free options: There’s a good range of gluten-free choices on the main menu, so I opted for the steak, and honestly, it was one of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time! 🥩 The flavour was incredible, the sides were fantastic, and the salad was delicious. But the real star for me was the wasabi sauce on the side! 🤤 I’d happily go back just for that alone!

🍰 The only downside: The gluten-free dessert options were a little limited, with only a couple of choices available, and unfortunately, they weren't quite my thing. However, this definitely didn't take away from how much I enjoyed the meal overall.

✨ The verdict: Between the incredible food, lovely staff and picturesque harbour views, Kota Kia has quickly become one of my favourite places! It's a fantastic spot for a special meal with family, and we'd all highly recommend giving it a visit. 🥰

⭐ 5 stars from us!

I’ve spent a little time today going through these photos and, honestly… WOW.
What a journey it’s been. 🥹

These are 49 memories from our Chat & Eat Night adventures, from 2014 – 2026. Looking back at them has made me realise just how much I/ Potluck Cornwall has achieved.

And this is only one part of the story. These photos don’t include all the Supper Clubs, Foraging Adventures, Bring & Share Potlucks, Host-a-Roasts, Feast Nights, food-related movie nights, cookery classes, collaborations and all the other food-fuelled adventures we’ve created along the way.

Fourteen years of living in Cornwall and I've eaten a heck of a lot of sensational food. 😂🍴

And, I’m incredibly proud to say, a whole lot of return business brought to Cornwall’s wonderful independent hospitality industry along the way.

What makes me proudest is why Potluck Cornwall started in the first place.
It was never just about going out for a meal.
It started predominantly from a desire to help tackle loneliness and isolation, to create spaces where people could turn up, sit around a table with strangers and leave having shared good food, stories, belly laughed and made a new friend or two.

And 49 Chat & Eat Nights later, that still gives me the biggest buzz. I’m so proud of what I’ve built, but I absolutely couldn’t have done it without you.
Every person who has booked a ticket, brought a friend, came along on their own, supported an event, shared a post, recommended Potluck to someone else or simply kept showing up, thank you. 🥰

You’ve helped make this little idea into something much bigger than I ever imagined. So here’s to Chat & Eat No.50 @konabar_ …and then, of course, the next 50 adventures.

I wonder where we’ll end up next…🍜😉

A familiar face on this coast!

@chefjudekereama joins us at Penzance Food Festival next week, bringing a little bit of @kota_porthleven magic to Penlee Park.

Always a pleasure to have him back. Plus we’re very excited to hear about his new spot @kota_kuki
Primarily because we love Oysters, BBQ, Wine & Cocktails ❤️‍🔥

We've been going to @kota_kai for years. Turns out it's taken me this long to actually notice they've had a proper Non Alcoholic section on the menu the whole time - Lucky Saint, Cobra 0.0, and three NA cocktails, all named properly, no asterisk.

What we actually ended up with was even better: a bottle of Steinbock Riesling Sparkling Zero, a German de-alcoholised sparkling Riesling. Genuinely good - dry, minerally, proper bubbles - and it did exactly what it should next to the Singapore Soft Shell Crab Bao Buns. Only shame is it wasn't on the printed menu - we only got it because we asked.

Same story I keep running into: the options are often there, you just have to look. If a place I've been visiting for years could still surprise me, most places probably can.

Full post is up on the blog - link in bio.

Same energy, different glass. 🥂

🔥Setting up for a sunny day at Kuki 🔪

Kamado hot, blue skies and the boats coming and going — not a bad view while we get ready for the day.

Fresh seafood, BBQ plates, cold Budvar, chilled wine and plenty of harbour-side seats.

Come up, order, grab a bench or take it away and find your spot, harbourside.

Kuki - open today from 2pm
