been wanting to cover this for a minute but here it finally is

this topic has been something that i've been observing being talked about in the underground for a good while but I thought it was finally a good time to make a recap post on it

some people think the pluggnb genre is dying out from its peak of popularity around 2017-18 and we cover all the opinions and angles regarding the topic in the next slides

as we know, summrs and autumn! were really the founders of the genre and expanded and developed its sound. most of the complaints around the current state of the genre revolve around the production and flows being stale and too similar to that of summrs and autumn - and we cover all of that in the slides

swipe for a bunch of tweets, videos, and more regarding the state of the genre - as well as a hilarious parody my moon47 about what the "typical pluggnb rapper" is like nowadays.

I tried including as much credit for the content I got as I could - tagging everyone who contributed with their respective tweets and videos.

also included tags for @siennaburmess and @tychoburwell - who shot, directed, and edited iconic music videos in 'back 2 da basics' and 'the definition of grateful!' which I preview in slide 9 <3

lmk what y'all think though! do you think agree that the genre is dying out and becoming stale or do you think the more creative artists in the genre are simply being overshadowed? lmk in the comments below!!
