Deep in the circuit today. Working on my Roland D-10 synthesiser from 1988. The screen is not switching on and the keys are getting stuck and no sound.

I’m excited to see what magic I can achieve and bring the 80’s back into motion for 2022!

How do you heal from people calling you the N word? From being exposed to bullying & racism for most of your childhood & teenage years? How do you heal your longing for a community when you’re forever either too wyt for the blk community or too blk for the wyt community?

YOU USE YOUR PAIN and start TELLING YOUR STORY.

For 2.5 years now I’ve been fostering a community @themixedgirlmeetup which gives women of mixed heritage a HOME away from home again. I pride myself in creating spaces that feel non-judgemental, warm, loving, uplifting & welcoming.

Each month I recreate the space I would have loved as a child and a teen but eventually had to emigrate as this was simply not possible in my home country.

I have poured my heart & soul into another @themixedgirlmeetup which will be happening on OCTOBER 17th!!!!! This time I’ve hired out an entire venue and have an afternoon full of magical experiences to relief your stress and recreate a feeling of belonging and love.

Beyond excited to also welcome the incredible @kozysworld who will be doing a mini live acoustic performance & bonus sister & yoga / life coach @_iamjoely who will be teaching a yoga and guided movement / dance class 😍

If you’re up for some in-depth discussions about being mixed, free food, good vibes & making new friends, please come along!!!!

Sign up link is the first link in my bio ❤️

Your votes are in!! OUR NEXT IN-PERSON EVENT WILL BE OCTOBER 17th!!! We have a HUGE PROGRAM organised for you & an entire venue to ourselves!!

An afternoon of sisterhood & healing! We have two special guests, The Voice finalist & BBC ONE Judge Ali Kose will be performing a mini acoustic set & one of the best Yoga teachers in London, Joely will be teaching a Yoga and Guided Movement class. Suitable for every body. Slow down, breathe deeply and re-connect with your sense of self through gentle yoga poses, Breathwork, visualization and mobility. You do not need to be an experienced Yogi to attend, this class is perfect for everyone. Find what feels good and leave feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and relaxed.

If you are tired of feeling like the odd one out, like you do not have community of your own and feeling heard but constantly misunderstood, this event is for you!!!
You find yourself on the intersection of two heritages and not being accepted by either? This is for you. If you want to unpack some of your trauma and/or experiences in a safe space away from social media, this is for you.

In the 2.5 years we have run these events, we can confidently say, everyone you meet at this event WILL have something in common with you and you'll feel a weight lifted off of your shoulder as you are finally able to share without the fear of being judged but instead met with understanding and often an instant connecting as you have been through similar things.
If you are a parent of mixed children or have a partner who is mixed we would highly recommend attending too!

We will be exploring all things mixed identity and how to navigate this ever-changing in-betweenship we find ourselves in. If you need a pick-me-up, a confidence boost, want to make new friends or simply listen to people who GET YOU, this space is FOR YOU!!!!

To make this experience even more comfortable for you, we will also be providing complimentary food & drinks (packaged to ensure safety).

You can sign up via the link in our bio ❤️
