SHOUT wasn’t created to recreate church. 🪭💃🏽

it was created to remember something older.

that rhythm has always been medicine.
that dancing has always been ceremony.
that gathering has always been part of how we carry one another.

for one night, gospel house music became the invitation; and the dance floor became the altar. 🤲🏾

the body did what it has always known how to do.
RELEASE.

At TheDojo.Society, we create sacred space for wholeness through movement, release, deep listening, ritual, and community .

SHOUT became another way to practice that.

thank you to everyone who stepped into the room, trusted the rhythm, and left a little lighter than they arrived. special thanks to the minister of music @anaturalhiiigh for bringing the sound medicine. to @pandoraslondon for feeding our stomachs and our souls! @jazmonthe_ for serving communion with so much style and grace.

until next revival.

JOY is still our offering. ❤️

We hosted our first INDUSTRY NIGHT of the year!

Missed this one? Don’t worry, we’ll be hosting more.

Last night, our H+I Team talked through our 2026 education plans with new hairdressers who are just graduating (or almost done) from cosmetology school, alongside seasoned professionals who are prioritizing growth and education this year.

Thank you to our hairdressing community and local cosmetology schools for sending your students and apprentices to INDUSTRY NIGHT. Networking, connection, and shared learning are such an essential part of what we do.

2025- a year of shedding and evolving

You know how they say that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel? This year was that light.
Love found me in many different facets. I finally let go of what, and who, I couldn’t change along with what no longer served me.
I cut my hair off! I found some new hobbies and maintained some previous ones :) I dove into cooking and challenged myself to complete a few house projects by myself. I adopted a fur baby and then lost my fur baby (she was brought to me for reasons deeper than I could ever explain, but we love her and she will always be with me)
My friends, old and new, have continuously poured into me as much as I have tried harder this year to pour into them.
I got a new (but same?) job which has only made me more authentically happy and proud of my art. I hit two years actively in therapy! (We also LOVE Niki- she a real one)
Then there’s this other human who unexpectedly came into my life and helped heal so many pieces of myself that she didn’t hurt.. but we’ll share more on her with time 🤭
If 2025 could start off as awful as it did, yet end so wonderful, I can’t help but look forward to what 2026 will bring. Cheers! Stranger Things finale tonight WHOOP
