The XTenna is a popular, affordable, and portable End-Fed Half-Wave (EFHW) wire antenna designed for amateur radio (HAM) operators, specifically for field, SOTA, or POTA operations. It features a switchable transformer unit allowing impedance matching ratios of 49:1, 56:1, or 64:1 for optimized multiband performance, typically covering 40m-10m bands

Should be some good reading for the weekend or more

Initial thoughts I like the
•"Workbook" style labels that are provided
•The Drills
•And sidebar section that gives some Go/No Go

Looking forward to reading this

Got a Mail call from my buddy @hoahamradioguy one of his coax cables with a TigerTail add on

A few weeks ago I got one of @_radiomadeeasy BNC Molle antenna mounts

So these two items together should make an amazing combo

Going to be getting it hooked up and test it out for a bit im excited to see what it can do

Day 2 of SNOW DAYS

Playing with the Xiegu G90 which was able to tune my 20M dipole to 10-40 meters which is super convenient

Worked some SSB FT4 and FT8 today all with 20W

●Continuous transmission = great propagation indicator

●Useful for checking antenna performance, feedline issues, and receiver sensitivity

●Helps gauge local coverage range, especially for VHF/UHF setups

Works When Everything Else Fails:

●NOAA transmitters have backup generators and hardened sites

●No internet, no cell towers, no repeaters needed

●Your HT + antenna is all you need

This makes NOAA one of the most reliable info sources in emergencies
