🎂 Happy 150th Birthday, Pittsworth!

It was wonderful to see the community spirit and pride of the “Heart of the Darling Downs”.

📰 The Pittsworth Sentinel captured its history beautifully in its special publication.

From DownsStream steam train and QCWA scones to magnificent historical displays and a street parade, there was something for everyone.

One of those returning for the celebration was Scott Mayall who shared a photo of himself on his decorated bike in the last parade held 50 years ago.

Yesterday we welcomed 190 new Australian citizens from 27 different countries to our City and region.
It’s inspiring to hear how they contribute to our society from doctors, nurses, aged care, engineers, hospitality, and barbers.
Congratulations to all our new Aussies 🇦🇺

😍 This is a “Love Story”!

Dhriti and Shiva met while studying engineering at @unisqaus in 2015.

Dhriti became an Aussie today and she works as an Environmental Engineer at @egisgroup

Shiva, already an Aussie Citizen, is a Mechanical Engineer
and Project Lead at @russellmineralequipment

They married in 2023 and are very proud parent to 9 week old Shambu.

Shambu’s grandma, Kamala, is visiting from India 🇮🇳 and was very excited to be present for the Citizenship Ceremony.

🇦🇺 Today we welcomed 190 new Australians from 27 different countries!

One new citizen has called our community home for an incredible 45 years.

It’s always inspiring to hear how our new Australians contribute to our community - from doctors and engineers to barbers and nurses.

🙏🏼 In a beautiful share of generosity, one family also baked delicious baklava to share.

🎉 Congratulations to all our new Aussies!

🚂 From dirt floor to running regular tours - DownsSteam is an absolute volunteer success story!

We recently celebrated 25 years of DownsSteam and the incredible journey they have been on to get where they are today.

A huge thank you to Chair Ros Scotney OAM, and to MC extraordinaire Robert Ketton, who told the DownsSteam story so beautifully.

🙏🏼 Thank you also to the wonderful sponsors, including Clive Berghofer AO, Lionel Moore and the incredible volunteers who keep these trains running.

🚂 Here’s to 25 years of DownsSteam - and to the next chapter of this remarkable volunteer success story!
