🔔Announcing our summer 2024 workshop series!

HAND BUILDING MUKOZUKE
with Karina Cunningham
Mondays 1-3pm June 17, 24 and July 1

Mukozuke are ancient Japanese serving dishes that have been used since the Momoyama period (16th Century) and onwards. We will be exploring these forms by handbuilding them using a slab over mould technique and then afterward adding a serving handle as an option. For the glazing, we will be using a combination of a copper glaze and coloring oxide using fluid brushing techniques to make playful motifs.
Understanding of basic hand-building techniques will helpful.

Register at supermudpottery.com

Price: $180 per workshop.
Includes: Instruction, clay, tools & one free 3hr open studio session per week

Embracing the full uncertainty of graduating with an art degree today and am nothing but grateful for my time spent with all my Rutgers peers, advisors, students & besties. There’s a lot of urgent work to be made so...back to that I guess. Looking forward to seeing all these people again and again and sharing our lives and deepest inner turmoils and hopes with each other as we have done the past couple years.

I’m honored to be in the Zimmerli Art Museum print collection (my first piece in a museum!) alongside my classmates from Mason Gross School of the Arts MFA 2019 at Rutgers. Our print portfolio is on view until February 2, 2020.
