A look back at this photographic feature shot at the headquarters of a major fashion, leather goods, jewellery and perfume house at 31 Rue Cambron in Paris.
This legendary venue houses the haute couture ateliers and private salons above the boutique.
A highly elegant project by the architectural practice Parallel, co-directed by Sylvia Laquerbe and Jean-Lou Morey.
Their architectural approach places great emphasis on combining aesthetics and ergonomics, working with experts (lighting designers, ergonomists, acousticians) to bring out the best in the materials and natural light of each space.
In some of the images, you’ll notice the beautiful ‘Nuit’ lighting by Kreon @kreon_lighting @ory_architecture @parallelarchitecture @syllaq_parallel

THE CROWN // Materiality as a common language.

Designed around a palette of natural tones and tactile surfaces, every material has been selected to create a sense of quiet continuity. Washed oak, Marmorin, bespoke finishes, and soft textiles come together in subtle dialogue – bringing depth, warmth, and timeless elegance to every space.
Thoughtfully curated details, from bespoke joinery to architectural light switches and carefully integrated fittings, complete the experience.

The third edition of VILLAS Portugal is officially out, inviting you on a new journey through architecture, design, art and the creative spirit of Portugal.

This issue explores the places, people and perspectives shaping contemporary design, from Portugal to beyond its borders:

— In Comporta, we discover @rockrose_melides, a remarkable architectural project by Manuel Aires Mateus, where sculptural volumes, minimal intervention and the surrounding landscape exist in perfect harmony.

— In the Alentejo, we meet with @alexandradecadaval_artprojects and step inside the historic Palácio dos Duques de Cadaval @palaciocadaval , where centuries of heritage meet contemporary art and creativity.

— In Lisbon, we discover an apartment curated by @quartosala , where iconic pieces by some of Italy’s most celebrated designers come together through a thoughtful interplay of materials, textures and volumes, creating an interior with a distinctive identity.

This edition also brings us closer to the people behind the spaces, including renowned architectural photographer @fernandogguerra , whose work reveals the emotion, light and atmosphere of architecture.

Beyond Portugal, our journey continues from São Paulo to Verona, discovering inspiring spaces and new perspectives on the art of living.
