My Magneto photos from @dreamconvention are finally in and I cannot thank @krhecreative / @rhemarkable for this wonderful shoot and collaboration. We braved the hot sun but the turnout on these photos are well worth it. Thank you again Kali!
And thank you again to @the.geek.forge for bringing this amazing cosplay to life. Amazing designers I'm absolutely happy to work with!

Another year. Another fulfilling summit.

I'm so happy to have connected with so many people, both new and familiar, at this year's summit. The laughter, hugs, and joy I witnessed throughout the weekend were truly beautiful.
We are honored to partner with TCU, receive support from the Trellis Foundation and H-E-B, and work alongside incredible Black women-owned businesses like So Sweet, So Savory for catering and Kali Rhe Creative for photography.

Special thanks for our colleagues from Black and Brown Dialogues for collaborating with us for this year's summit, María Del Carmen Unda, PhD (@mariaunda222) and Angela Valenzuela (@vlnzl). We are grateful and proud that we could make this happen.

As president of TADOHE - Texas Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education (@tadohe) my goal is to continue expanding our outreach and building spaces where people can connect, learn, and support one another. While this year's summit was intentionally intimate, the impact of our conversations, the strength of our relationships, and the quality of our interactions were second to none. Creating community was the goal and I think we met it!

I am, once again, so honored and in awe to work alongside Klarissa Y. Perez, Sean E. Whitten, and Christena (Tena) Gonzales, MBA, CRA. Thank you to everyone who attended, presented, volunteered, sponsored, and believed in this work. My heart is full, and I'm already looking forward to what's next.

The words that shaped queer liberation are taking the stage in July 29 at Bishop Arts Theatre Center.

“A Manifesto for Us All” is built entirely from the manifestos, speeches, and political writings of the Gay Liberation Front, Marsha P. Johnson & Sylvia Rivera, ACT UP, Queer Nation, Lesbian Avengers, and more.

Across five movements, these voices argue, grieve, provoke, and demand. #QueerLiberation has always been an unfinished conversation, and it’s still ours to have. 🏳️‍🌈✊🏳️‍⚧️

“A Manifesto for Us All” is the final performance in the “CORRESPONDENCE: Letters of Queer Resistance, Love & Revolution” series, presented by @badge_of_pride and @writersgarret.

Tickets on sale now at BADGEOFPRIDE.ORG. Ticket holders get a special limited-edition button to commemorate the performance.

Made possible by the @dallasculture, @moodyartsfund, and @dallas_voice.

Some rooms just make you better.
Take Five Pitch + Social has a vibe that is hard to fake.

No pressure. No judgment. No grading anyone on their delivery, their numbers, or how polished they sounded. Just a room with people who came to pour into each other in a real way.

Pitchers shared what they are building and what they need. The room responded with questions that actually went somewhere, referrals named on the spot, resources passed across the table, and follow-ups planned before anyone walked out. People left with names, contacts, and next steps that did not exist when they walked in.

That’s what makes this event different. It’s built for real connection, not performance.

The next Take Five Pitch + Social is Friday, July 17, at Regions Bank in Fort Worth. Only 5 pitch tickets are available, so if you want to put your business in front of a room built to help you, claim one before they are gone. General admission is free for everyone else. Come ready to ask the question someone needs answered and share the contact, resource, or insight someone might be missing. You will leave with as much as you give, often more.

Before then, join us on Thursday, July 9, at 12 PM Central for a free Zoom webinar with Jamar Jones, Branch Manager and Vice President at Regions Bank Fort Worth. “What Your Bank Should Be Doing For You” is the conversation most business owners and creatives never get to have with someone inside the bank.

We are halfway through the year, and I am so grateful for how God has made a way despite the many challenges I have faced. The scripture that has kept me rooted in joyful expectation even in the midst of trial is this:

“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭18‬ ‭NIV‬

Here’s to the future being greater than the past!
