🥒🫑 Cucumbers & Green Peppers — Ayurveda in Your Plate - Fresh from the Garden

From an Ayurvedic perspective, both cucumber and green pepper are refreshing, light, and hydrating foods—but they can affect each dosha differently.

🥒 Cucumber • Cooling, hydrating and refreshing
• Can help balance Pitta, especially in warm weather
• Because of its cooling and watery qualities, too much may increase Vata or dampen Agni in some people
• Best enjoyed with warming spices when digestion is weak

🫑 Green Pepper • Light, fresh and slightly stimulating
• Can be supportive for Kapha when prepared with warming spices
• In excess, raw green peppers may aggravate Vata, especially if digestion is sensitive
• Pitta should observe how spicy or stimulating preparations affect them

🔥 How to support Agni If you love these cooling vegetables but want to keep your digestive fire strong, try pairing them with:

✨ Fresh ginger
✨ Cumin
✨ Coriander
✨ Fennel
✨ Black pepper
✨ A little ghee or sesame oil
✨ Cooking rather than eating large amounts raw

🌿 Ayurvedic tip:
When Agni is low, favor warm, cooked meals and digestive spices rather than making a large raw salad the center of your meal.

Ayurveda is not about avoiding foods—it is about learning how, when, and with what to eat them so they support your unique constitution and current state of digestion.

✨ AYURVEDIC GHEE STEP BY STEP - GOLDEN OIL OF LIFE ✨

🧈 Step 1 — Start with butter
Use unsalted, preferably organic butter. Place it in a heavy-bottomed pan over low heat.

🔥 Step 2 — Let it melt
Allow the butter to gently melt and begin to simmer. Don’t rush the process.

🌿 Step 3 — Clarify
The water evaporates and the milk solids separate. A gentle golden aroma begins to develop.

🥄 Step 4 — Strain
When the ghee becomes golden at the bottom, you may lower the heat and take the white residue that builds at the top with a spoon. When done, remove from heat. You may also strain through a fine cloth or sieve.

✨ Step 5 — Store & enjoy
Pour into a clean, dry glass jar. Let it cool and solidify.

🌞 Ayurvedic tip:
Ghee is traditionally valued for supporting digestion, nourishment and ojas (vital essence). Enjoy it mindfully as part of your daily nourishment for cooking, as a salad dressong, or for pasta, toast, and rice.

🌿✨ AYURVEDA • FOOD AS NOURISHMENT - GHEE RECIPE ✨🌿

In Ayurveda, food is more than what we put on our plate. It is part of how we care for Agni, our digestive fire, support the doshas, and cultivate a deeper relationship with the body.

One of the traditional Ayurvedic foods we explore in our training is ghee 🧈🌿

Ghee is clarified butter, traditionally prepared by gently cooking butter until the water evaporates and the milk solids separate.

✨ Simple Homemade Ghee

🧈 Place unsalted butter in a saucepan over low heat.
🔥 Let it slowly melt and gently simmer.
🌿 As the milk solids separate and settle to the bottom, continue cooking until the liquid becomes clear and golden and has a nutty aroma.
🥄 Strain through a fine cloth or strainer into a clean, dry glass jar.
💛 Allow it to cool and store covered.

In Ayurveda, ghee is traditionally valued for its nourishing and unctuous qualities and is used in many preparations. Its effects can also vary depending on the individual, constitution, digestion, season, and how it is used.

This is where Ayurveda becomes a practice of observation rather than rigid rules.

I feel so incredibly grateful that our paths crossed and that you chose to walk beside me through this sacred chapter of my life.
