I’m so excited that I’ll be part of the Drummer’s Week at Sam First next month.
I’ll be bringing my big band back to Sam First with a program that I’ve been meaning to do with one of closest friends, Adam Hersh, for a very long time.

We always wanted to work together on a big band program with the music of Thelonious Monk, so this evolved into that we will perform Oliver Nelson’s arrangements of Monk’s tunes, originally recorded on Monk’s Blues.
We will also perform all the amazing arrangements that Bob Mintzer wrote of Herbie Hancock’s tunes for the Mel Lewis Jazz Orchestra.
We can’t wait to share the music of Herbie and Monk next month with an amazing stacked band.
