A true yarn. In 2006 we became the third owners of a historic house built in 1892, designed by #williamralphemerson . We spent 6 months peeling wallpaper, scraping, sanding, restoring plaster and floors in three of the rooms to be the home of a yarn shop. When I was painting a closet I found this card tucked under the bottom side of a shelf, it was literally the only thing remaining after months of work, I took it as a sign of approval from the previous owner who lived most of her long life in the house. Swipe through to see a picture of the shop and photos of the house including the wedding of the builder/first owner’s daughter in 1908. ♥️♥️♥️

We learned @kris.grover created this stained glass piece in the front door. It catches the late afternoon light perfectly. ✨

Lisa @lisas_heartwritings invites everyone to write their suggestions for prompts for the #Novemberwhiskey20 challenge in the comments for this post or, if you follow her account, in her original post.
We will collate a list from all your suggestions to form the #Novemberwhiskey20 tribute challenge and post the list along with any rules and hashtags to include in order for everyone to see your tribute posts.

I

You have until 30th October to post your ideas for prompt in the comments below. Suggestions for prompts could relate to anything you want to remember about Marie, maybe interests you shared, perhaps favourite phrases from her poems, prompts from previous monthly challenges, titles from her poems or ebooks or anything she inspired within you. We’d like this to be a fitting tribute to the talents of Marie and hope as many people as possible will contribute and then participate in the November challenge writing poems using the prompts by way of tribute. So please help to share and promote by also tagging other accounts in the comments as well as adding your suggestions. Reposting would also be appreciated
We are looking forward to seeing your prompt suggestions in the comments below
Many thanks Elle and Lisa

Twenty years with this guy at my side who loves and respects me unconditionally, supports my crazy dreams, and inspires me every day to be a better human. He has so much integrity, intelligence, talent, kindness, always rooting for the underdog, a bad sense of humor and he’s kind of cute. Thank you for all the heavy lifting you do everyday to enrich our lives and keep this old house standing. I love you forever, just this once @kris.grover #happyanniversary

Today’s pick, I feel a fire roasted tomato sauce coming on. Swipe to see wood fired/grilled dinner from a couple days ago. I’m not a big red meat eater, just a few times a year but this was sooo good. Star of the show was the #aostavalleytomato All veggies just coated with a little olive oil, rosemary, salt and pepper. Simple and delicious. Have always loved fire roasted sauce and salsa, time to get out the canning jars and fire up the grill. And that dragonfly, a permanent resident on the path, that’s what happens when your better half is a stained glass artist @kris.grover #krisgroverstainedglass

My happy place. We have two gardens for veggies, lots of other flower beds around the house but this is the oldest and my favorite. We call it the “upper garden” because it’s up hill above the house. @kris.grover made this path with stones that we dug out when we were making the garden 20 something years ago. No shortage of rocks around here! In the back you can see the squash trellis on the left and the peas/bean trellis on the right. A recent visitor remarked it’s a small space but there’s a lot in here! That had never occurred to me but it’s true, I guess I just like to try different things. This 1150 square ft garden is home to; several kinds of thyme, lavender, lettuce, foxglove, peonies, lovage, purslane, queen of the prairie, bee balm, echinacea, ladies mantle, turnips, 4 kinds of radish, two kinds of beets, Swiss chard, 2 kinds of peas, 3 kinds of beans, Bok choy, kale, potatoes, fennel, basil, nicotiana, zinnias, stock, tithonia, sweet peas, 5 kinds of squash, 2 kinds of bunching onions, cilantro, calendula, sunflowers, phlox, stachys, borage and last but not least, poppies, poppies and more poppies and soon roses and clematis. And carrots! How could I forget the carrots! 🥕 🤦‍♀️
