THE HEART OF THE MAZE is a ten-episode Limited Series.

It’s a fresh take on the Treasure Hunt genre, and my favorite description of it by a reader thus far is, “It’s Before Sunrise meets National Treasure”.

It’s a true ensemble piece, featuring two timelines (set in 1930 and 2022), with eight core characters.

The eight core characters and some guest star roles were written for specific actors. I’m tagging them all (or their productions companies) below, and including their character names and what episodes they appear in.

@arianadebose - Sammy - Eps. 1-4 & 6-10
@daniajramirez - Felice - Eps. 1-4 & 6-10
@darcycarden - Holly - Eps. 2-4 & 6-10
@javicia - Winnie - Eps. 1-4 & 7-9
Kristen Stewart @nevermind.pix - Alice - Eps. 1-4 & 7-9
@leahmlewis - Xena - Eps. 1-4 & 6-10
Margot Robbie @luckychap - Brett - All Ten Episodes
@zendaya - Easy - All Ten Episodes
@krisholdenried - Fred - Eps. 3,4, & 9
@anna.silk - Elena - Ep. 9
@kingofbingo - Sebastian - Ep. 9

Episode One and Two are available for everyone to read through the link in my bio. Episodes Three through Ten are available upon request by parties interested in working with me to bring this story to the screen.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from Mauro Mueller’s film 111 Echoes from Halifax, which is about the Swissair crash of Flight 111 off the coast of Peggy’s Cove. I was thirteen years old on September 2nd, 1998 and about to start Grade 9. Between the Swissair crash in 1998 and the September 11th attacks in 2001 to this day airplane crashes are among my biggest anxiety triggers. What I remember about that time in 1998 was my friend, whose house is on the ocean, coming into school later that week having seen parts of the rescue operation that turned into a grisly recovery effort out on the water. I was curious about what angle the filmmakers would chose for telling this profoundly sad story, and Mueller and Jennie Allen have written a fictionalized story that creates a rich and complex tapestry of just some of the lives from three different countries that were forever changed the day the remains of Flight 111, which left from New York City en route to Geneva, ended up here in Halifax, a city with a long history of rising to such a somber occasion. A special honor for a film so closely connected to this place. ❤️

111 – ECHOES FROM HALIFAX, directed by our own Mauro Mueller, has won the Gordon Parsons Award for Best Atlantic Feature at the @atlanticfilmfest !

Sharing the film with audiences in Halifax for its world premiere meant so much to us. To leave with this recognition makes it all the more special.

Thank you to the jury, the festival, our cast and crew, and our producing partners at @c.films.ag and Auguste Content. We’re proud to share this moment with you.

Next stop: the European premiere at the @zurichfilmfestival on September 29. In cinemas across German-speaking Switzerland from October 1.

When all seems lost, love remains.
