Arriving just in time for #bannedbooksweek ✊📚, #nokingsday 🚫👑, and @petalumapride 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️, we’ve got a bunch of new stock from the always awesome @microcosm_pub (whose punk rock aesthetic we can definitely appreciate)! 🤘

In addition to these amazing stickers, we have two more titles from Danny Caine (author of How to Resist Amazon and Why always found on our front counter), a selection of their fantastic zines, self care resources (including one for my fellow genXers also riding the perimenopause rollercoaster 🎢), and some fabulous new additions to our LGBTQ+ resources section that will make their debut tomorrow at our table at Petaluma Pride! Be sure to stop by and check them out.

The Emporium is open until 5:30 today at 2200 Petaluma Blvd North Ste 805, across from Express in the Petaluma Village Premium Outlets.

It has been quite a blur of a week.
From wrapping work on The Lowdown Season 2 on Wednesday straight into festival mode on Thursday. I’m very grateful and honored to present a documentary that is hopefully as impactful as the work that Lee Roy was passionate about. Thank you @circlecinema for recognizing this work.
I cannot take credit for the film alone and I can’t extend enough appreciation to my collaborators: @centerforpublicsecrets @joshuakline @charleseelmore @well.told @ry.mcguy @stuarthetherwood and Whitney Chapman.
Without the sincere participation of @michaelpmason @black_history_saturdays @chief.amusan and blakeewing3232 this film would not have been possible. Thank you for your time and trust.
Special thanks to those that knew Lee Roy and documented his life and work; their contributions were vital to the film: @sterlinharjo @matt__leach @jdpayneok @jeremyluther @jeremy_lamberton @westerndoughty @cheyennebutcher everyone at @thislandpress (past and present), @bronchoworldwide dylangoldenaycock @jacobfredjazzodyssey the Chapman family and many more.

And finally to Lee Roy Chapman, thank you for showing us all how we’re “doing it wrong.”

Here’s to hoping the film inspires others to be curious and question their perspectives of their hometown.

Kris & Jo - August 2025
One of Jo’s favorite bands was Queens of the Stone Age. That’s one of the first things Jo told me last summer. I didn’t ask what her favorite song was. I honestly figured we would have those conversations in the future. We didn’t get a chance to so here’s one of my favorites for Jo. You will be missed ❤️
