We have some great additions to our Mule Kick Rock n Roll Brunch lineup featuring Twang City presents: Western Edge - A Celebration of Groundbreaking LA Roots Music! (Title inspired by our favorite CMHOF exhibit:) Check out the poster and make plans to spend Saturday, September 19th with us at Love and Exile Bar in East Nashville - it’s the only place you need to be.. The 1980s in Los Angeles was such an innovative time for roots music. Bands like The Blasters, Rank and File, X, Lucinda Williams, Jim Lauderdale, Lone Justice, The Beat Farmers and more were blending punk rock with country music and classic songwriting while doing it on their terms.  Venues like The Palomino Club in North Hollywood were a breeding ground for a new sound we know as Cowpunk - born of the rebel spirit of young artists who embraced country music in their own way.
