little late but—some of my fave pics from april 🩷 what an honor to be able to see through a second @omiamifestival poetry festival and complete a second year as their fellow! i seriously had so much fun. i had so so so much fun and i will carry that feeling with me forever, right alongside everything i’ve learned from this team, from this work, from everyone i’ve had the chance to meet and know as a result of my time there. thank you if you’ve ever submitted a zipode, bought an o, miami publication, chatted with me over the clickity-clack of typewriters, read your poems at an open mic, shown up to a book release, written a little something at any workshop i’ve taught, put time and effort into making a festival project happen, danced your heart out at our quinceañera, volunteered at an event, supported the greenhouse or sunroom programs, helped make this city a more beautiful place all the time. thank you to o, miami and the poetry coalition for believing in me! immeasurably grateful for this chapter of my life and so excited for the next one, whatever shape it may take hehe 🪞 (p.s.: photos are by @chantal_lawrie and @vlopz, of course.) (p.p.s.: it’s not too late to apply to be o, miami’s next fellow! applications are still open!)

still reeling from all the cool things i got to do in april 💌 here are a couple snapshots by the inimitable @chantal_lawrie that will hopefully explain why you may have seen either too little or too much of me last month! while having the chance to read my work alongside the incredible poets rio cortez and romeo oriogun, supporting and facilitating numerous engaging and thoughtful workshops by local teaching artists and creatives, clacking away on a vintage typewriter writing poems live for o, miami enthusiasts, running around backstage while producing a full-blown variety show and then a modern dance performance, and beyond (!), i was constantly aware of how lucky i am to get to make my community a richer and more beautiful place through one of the things i love most passionately in this life—poetry. thank you to anyone who showed up to any @omiamifestival events this year to support the org, say hi to me, or just see what all the hullabaloo is about 🍊 i love this city and i love the people who live in it and i will love this past april forever :-)
