My friend @krellthewarrior brought over his @rolandglobal TR-1000 and we proceeded to spend an empirical afternoon together programming it to sound like my vintage TR-808 and TR-909. Much has been mentioned about the analog direct outputs of the TR-1000 but seldom heard. We aimed to fix that. Everything was broken out on all machines and mixed analog on my Neve console to remove the internal mixing on any machines. If there are pitch or tone differences, it’s because the TR-1000 did not have those controls or enough range to match 1:1 to my particular vintage machines. Full videos on my youtube channel (INHALTVIDEO) including individual sound comparisons. #tr1000 #tr808 #tr909 #analog #drummachine

Snowflake Starter, Part 6 of 7 ❄️
As more water molecules attach to the microbe, they begin to form a snowflake. Once this frozen parachute gets heavier than the surrounding air, it gracefully descends, bringing the snowflake starter along for the ride.　　　　　.　　　　　　　　　　⠀✦ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀.　　　　　　.　　　　　　　　　　⠀✦ #snowflakes #snowflake #ice #winterwonderland #microbe #microbes #bacteria #snow #stem #scicomm #scienceeducation #natureswonders #natureswonder #weather #wonderscience #wonder #microbiology #science

Snowflake Starter, Part 5 of 7 ❄️
Over the past decades, scientists have unveiled a new revelation -- the sky, rather than being an empty void, is actually teeming with microbial life. Clouds, it turns out, are floating ecosystems where microbes traverse vast distances, nourishing themselves on nutrients and even engaging in reproduction. But life is easier on the ground. And that’s when being locked inside the center of a snowflake comes in handy. 　　　　　.　　　　　　　　　　⠀✦ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀.　　　　　　　⠀　　　⠀.

Snowflake Starter, Part 4 of 7 ❄️
The bacterium creates more snowflakes than other airborne ice nucleators through a specialized protein coating its exterior. The unique structure of this protein coaxes water molecules to align in an ice-like fashion, speeding up the freezing process. Before long the bacterium is encased in ice. But what good is being frozen alive?

Snowflake Starter, Part 3 of 7 ❄️
Enter the protagonists of this snowy saga – single-celled bacteria, with the most prolific among them being a species named Pseudomonas syringae. This bacterium can transform water vapor into ice at temperatures higher than those typically conducive to freezing.

Snowflake Starter, Part 2 of 7 ❄️
In higher altitude clouds, inorganic particles such as dust, soot, or ash often play the role of starting snowflakes. However, in lower clouds where the most elaborate snowflakes take shape, organic particles take center stage. These can range from pollen and fungal spores to an astonishing contender – microorganisms, many of which are ALIVE!

Snowflake Starters, Part 1 of 7 ❄️ On the scoreboard of nature’s wild stunts, the following captivating narrative ranks high as the sky. It’s the saga of a microbe that travels the jet streams, influences the weather, and descends upon earth in the discreet elegance of private snowflake parachutes.❄️

Snowflakes, enchanting in their intricacy, don’t just materialize out of thin air. Each one requires a solid foundation onto which water vapor in a cloud can coalesce and freeze – a snowflake starter.
