Every child deserves the opportunity to succeed and that starts with eating healthy meals each day! 🍎 🥪

Thanks to the passage of HB 2402, it will be easier for Kansas students to get the nutrition they need to learn and thrive. ✏️

A win for Kansas kids! 🍎🎉

Kansas House Bill 2402 has been signed into law by Governor Laura Kelly, expanding access to free school meals through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).

This effort helps schools maximize federal funding, reduce administrative burdens, and eliminate lunch debt in participating schools.

This makes it easier for students to access the healthy meals they need to learn and thrive! When kids are nourished, they’re better prepared to succeed in the classroom and beyond. #ksleg

Today marks seven years with the @ahakansas , and my heart is full. 🫶🏻

I’m incredibly proud of the career I’ve built, the people I’ve met and worked alongside, and the mission I get to serve every single day. To honor this milestone, here are seven accomplishments that mean a lot to me:

1) Beginning my journey as a Director of Development for Go Red for Women. I’m deeply proud of the work we did to elevate women’s heart health and shine a light on the risk factors too often overlooked.

2) Growing into the role of Senior Director and leading the Wichita team. Stepping into leadership has been one of the greatest privileges of my career, and I’m honored to be trusted with leading the market.

3) Helping the Wichita Heart Ball achieve its BEST YEAR YET- twice. Celebrating record-breaking results with this community will always be a highlight.

4) Guiding the Wichita Board of Directors to Gold Standard Board recognition. Their dedication and leadership made this achievement possible.

5) Setting Teen of Impact records in 2025. Our very first year with Kansas nominees - and Wichita nominee, Lad Oborny raised an incredible $225,000 in just nine weeks. 👏🏻

6) Being part of an AMAZING staff team. The momentum, collaboration, and meaningful relationships we’ve built together fuel our mission every day.

7) Meeting countless survivors. Hearing their stories, honoring their journeys, and sharing their voices to create impact is something I will cherish forever.

Thank you, Wichita, for welcoming me into this community eight years ago. I’m so proud of what these seven years with the American Heart Association have held - and even more excited for what’s ahead.

Cheers to the next seven.
