Bad weather?
You mean kite weather. 😂💨🤙

🧊 Is this the last ride on the ice? 😂 Cracks are spreading…

I always test the structural layer with my ice screw, guesswork or just poking the ice with picks doesn’t cut it when the melt is this unpredictable!
This is a super cool chance to study real ice strength and conditions while tour skating.
Ice thickness is getting harder to judge, which is why I lean on my ice screw for exact measurements and peace of mind. Who knew mixed climbing skills would come in handy on flat ice? Just probing with ice picks won’t do: a 10 cm difference can mean life or death. Don’t take unnecessary risks, even if an expert says it’s okay. Always check yourself!

Too many people have fallen through the ice this season without the right gear… an ice screw could be your best friend. Smart, light, potentially lifesaving.
Stay safe and skate smart!
