Whenever I read the story of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32) it brings me to emotional heights I can’t truly explain or express. As I read the story it is a story of ME- a man who left the Father, took his inherited gifts, and wasted it. Over the past 5 years I’ve been on this emotional, spiritual, and mental rollercoaster. The times I thought I found myself were overshadowed by events that transpired that I loss myself at the same moment. Life has truly opened my eyes. For I was once lost but now I’m found. God showed me first hand how he could leave the 99 and search for the one- the one being ME! I am now understanding what HE defined as unconditional love. I put my gift and life on the shelf. Shattered and haunted by past mistakes, past pains, and present trauma- yet HE continued to beckoned me back to HIM. Though I left HIM for a moment- HE never left me. So to that -LaMonte is back and better days are here. This new season I run with expectations that the best days are the days ahead. The lessons I learned in private have reformed the public man I am becoming. To all who held me in prayer- thank you. 🙏🏾 You were the support I needed. Let’s go- it’s time to get back to work! CL

🇺🇸 Happy Veterans Day, and thank you veterans, for your service! 🇺🇸 Loved taking to downtown Mooresville this afternoon to celebrate this special day with my @wcnctv family and an awesome community! (And yes, our @youandmefurever foster pup MJ helped pass out goodies along the parade route—he did great!) ❤️

2022 was my most impactful year yet back in Charlotte, thanks in large part to great collaboration with coworkers, sources and viewers.

Our investigations resulted in policy changes at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools to better track taxpayer-funded technology and City of Charlotte to better include minority, women and small business enterprises in government contracting, a North Carolina State Bar investigation into unequal justice in Cabarrus County traffic court, a pay increase for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department off-duty officers working major sporting events, the resignation of a newly hired official tasked with overseeing the Mayor’s Racial Equity Initiative, exposed preventable police pursuit deaths and the mistreatment of wheelchair-bound airline passengers and helped homeowners, small business owners and others collect roughly $160,000 and those are just the highlights.

I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together this year, am excited about what we’re building at @wcnctv and am eager to share the big projects already underway for 2023.

We’re investigating, asking “Where’s the Money?” And Seeking Solutions and I know my hometown is better for it.

🥂

Onward!

Look at these people.

We’re your neighbors.

Just a joy volunteering with the @wcnctv team at @promisingpages today.

We cleaned donated books that will go to kids in book deserts throughout #Clt

Thrilled to work for a company that’s committed to helping our community both on and off the air.
