PRIDE POLAROID PROJECT 2023 WITH @KSLGUO

Kingsley and I met this past the NYE @pauljohncarli’s little New Years soirée a few months ago.

Smitten by his sense of humor and charisma, we instantly clicked and I’m truly glad to call Kingsley a friend now.

Kinglsley lends his sense of humor to his meme accounts – @bussytherapy @urfavgayslay. In addition to this though, he is an extremely talented actor + fellow theater nerd.

In the last few months we’ve seen shows ranging from ‘And Juliet,’ ‘The Collaboration’ and more recently Laurie Metcalf in ‘Grey House.’

I also was fortunate enough to see Kingsley in his thesis performance of ‘The Seagull’ at NYU. I was truly blown away by his acting and comedic timing.

Excited for our friendship to grow and to continue seeing Kingsley shine on and off stage.

A few words by Kingsley about what pride means to him, “Growing up in China, I didn't see any queer representation due to intense media censorship. It was only until I moved back to North America that I found my true self and the community. Pride, to me, is the reclamation of visibility and a beacon of hope for those who have yet to experience it.”

Big thank you to @denawinter for set design, @joesturm for creative production and @tribecajournal for the studio space

nyu c/o 2025! she’s got a BFA!! 💜

18 year old me moved to NYC with two suitcases and a dream. since then, she became a first generation college graduate, an artist, and a happy human being filled with so much passion, love, and joy. someone important to me once said they never went to bed the same person they were when they woke up, they always did something to better themselves. that piece of advice changed my life and got me through college. it made me the person and artist i am today. i am so grateful to be surrounded by the people i cherish and the work i love. overjoyed to be a storyteller for the rest of my life.

para mi mami, mi pa, y mi jona. no estuviera aquí sin ustedes.
