It’s summer in the Gorge and golden hour might be my favorite. Still in awe that I call this place home!

What a week. 90 miles of biking, long walks, hot springs soaks, and even a sunset fly-in to a tiny grass airstrip just to grab ice cream and soda. We celebrated Katy & Tom’s anniversary, shared evenings cooking and hanging with friends, and laughed our way through one very questionable trail that had Katy and me hauling e-bikes over 20+ downed logs in the final miles.

There were rides with kids and dogs chasing along, and plenty of early-to-bed nights after full days. Another week that checks every box: adventure, community, and memories that stick

Just got back from an unforgettable week in Maui for my Birthday with an incredible crew. Perfect wind sessions, plenty of tennis, and full-on island life mode—exactly what I needed. Feeling grateful for such amazing friends and the chance to play hard in paradise

Getting wintery and my latte art is rapidly declining but the skiing is good and the HR @bjorkstamhatco workshop is moving out of the shed into the cutest production space!

In September, Katy Loewy attended the Department of Defense Ovarian Cancer Academy annual retreat. While there, Katy shared her ovarian cancer experience with scientists and learned about cancer research. Katy shares her thoughts:

“Attending this year’s Ovarian Cancer Academy conference was my first experience with patient advocacy. Meeting researchers and physicians from all over the country as well as internationally, all working toward advancements in ovarian cancer research and treatments was really inspiring. Gaining insights and participating in proposal reviews for grant applications was really eye opening. Adding a patient voice to the process really helps tie to work back into real life application giving perspective from a laypersons point of view. The inclusion of patient advocates can help promote funding for the incredible work being done and push the needle with more research and trials. We also heard from keynote speakers discussing things like using AI to predict treatment outcomes in ovarian cancer. Having a chance to sit down and talk with some of these researchers and physicians was a highlight for me. Sharing my story of diagnosis and treatment as well as discussing continued quality of life and long term survival gives a tangible connection to the work being done. Knowing that I can play a role in promoting more funding for ovarian cancer is huge. I feel inspired to get more involved and be a voice for all those who have been impacted by this disease.”

Thank you, Katy!

Feeling bittersweet as the season winds down. It’s been incredible learning a new sport alongside my amazing girl crew. We hit the water together last week, and I’m beyond stoked that in my first season—with less than 50 hours on the water—I’m already jibing, switching feet, and chasing these awesome ladies around! It’s been such a blast, I never want it to end! 🦋
