I took a short trip out to #Kawagoe to finally visit @kulajiujitsu, and it did not disappoint.
Morie-san (@hiroyuki.jj) is building something special.

From the moment you walk in, you feel the Hawaiian vibe; maybe it’s the surfboard on the wall or the clean, minimalist design. There’s plenty of space for shoes and bags, and everything from check-in to payments and training is tracked via iPad using gym management software (I should’ve grabbed the name!).

There are two private changing rooms and two hotel-style rain showers, something you don’t expect at a BJJ gym.

It was a Monday, so class was on the smaller side, but the instruction was top notch, as expected. Sparring was fast-paced but friendly. 😅

To be honest, I’ve been struggling with motivation to train lately, but visiting new gyms, reconnecting with old friends, and meeting new ones is what it’s about. I need drop into new places more often.

Sadly, I didn’t get any good photos of the gym this time, but I’ll definitely post an update on my next visit. This place is a gem.

We got to train @kulajiujitsu in Karagoe today. What a nice facility with a touch of Hawaii. Any time you are in the area when visiting Japan, check them out. Mahalo Hiro for the hospitality #alldaymga #cascaojiujitsu
