The rain cannot stop new music being released ⛈️ Literally horrific weather outside so NO WORRIES if you don't feel like popping in today. But Here are the albums we think you should listen to 🎧 There's some really excellent heavy releases from Kulk and Mould, some fantastic new soul from Michael Kiwanuka and Surprise Chef and a couple o tasty new comps and reissues from Mr Bongo. Plus we've got the brand new Moni Jitchell arriving tomorrow to accompany their intimate (but loud) in-store. If the rain continues at this level I MAY shut a touch early today, keep an eye on the stories for updates. Oh, and send us a message if you'd like to reserve anything! 💖 x

Check out our review for Kulk and their new album "Choosing To Die"! The album was released on August 28 via Church Road Records! "Even its lyricless moments are testaments to the feelings surrounding the album and what the band stand for. Riveting, downcast, and, most of all, memorable. This is why I love sludge and why it’ll always hit when it’s done by people who care about it."

Your recommendations have been sending us in all sorts of directions lately, and the love coming from the UK has been unstoppable, with @kulkband right at the heart of it. Alongside IAN, whom we announced earlier today, they have been one of those names you keep throwing our way. Kulk’s new album Choosing To Die, the latest in a run of very strong records, made a huge impression on us, and it quickly became clear from your response that we weren’t alone. Their music is bleak, noisy and sludgy, but delivered with an urgency that makes the duo unavoidable. As these things so often go, the connections run deeper: IAN’s cellist Hannah Asprey appears on the album, bringing these two very different but equally heavy worlds even closer together. So it feels only right to continue where we left off earlier today. Kulk will descend upon Roadburn 2027, and we can’t wait to experience that crushing intensity with you.
