Kumar Klub embossed creamy pints of Guinness, crispy onion bhajis in the back of a pub in Cork, all soundtracked by a lineup of DJ’s and live music. Music and food is our jam and this was the perfect example of bringing our loves together. Dancing all night, onion bhajis flying across the room. @kumarklub is coming to Dublin, and we’re buzzing for it. Happening in @hensteethdublin on Sunday the 20 of July, they’re teaming up with @bahay_dub for some delicious Filipino flavours. There will be DJs all day with @mangodassle, @tara_kumar, @moving0still and @riggzcastillo, and BAHAY’s main man, will be jumping on the decks too! It’s a FREE party, kicking off from 13:00. Celebrating 2 years of DJing! My real journey began in March 2023 when I joined a £100 six-week course at @hub16_ with @samanthaldn (wild I know) I was new to London, looking to make friends, and fell in love with it immediately. I signed up for the intermediate course straight after. We were all into different genres, so I got exposed to so much music and made some gorgeous friends. I’d tried to learn during lockdown, but it didn’t stick. I think I really needed the human connection—and the Hub gave me that. It felt like the perfect space to grow. Later that year, I entered the Born n Bread Gala competition 2023 —and I WON . I got the text in a café in Notting Hill, nearly passed out, and celebrated with a cinnamon bun. I still remember that day so clearly. Left work early, got the bus to Peckham, and played hands down one of the best experiences sof my life. I was on after @djsandraomari and before @duoitsduo 🤢Made a lil mistake during the changeover, but we got there in the end It showed me I had more friends in London than I realised—and that there is space for the music I love. the ladies all were so kind they danced with me gave me words of encouragement and still do to this day so I really am grateful for the role they play in my journey. @nosleepclub.ie gave me my first paid gig at Longitude for JD. (Again and experience I will cherish dearly) My uncle dropped me off at the festival ALONE —I was bricking it, like wtf was I doing —but the set went off, and everything since has been a dream. It’s easy to compare yourself especially online, but it’s important to celebrate your own milestones and be proud of the things and steps you take big or small. And do so with LOVE and GRACE. This a note to self: keep doing what brings you joy. Be kind. Stop. Smell the roses 💌

Celebrating St. Patricks Day with Tara Kumar & Foundation FM Kumar Klub is a series of events curated by DJs Tara Kumar and Mango blending music, food and community. Inspired by their Irish-Indian heritage, Kumar Klub embodies the warmth of South Asian and Irish hospitality, where no one leaves hungry, while also being inspired by Ireland’s unique nightlife history. In the 1980s, licensing laws required nightclubs to stop the music and turn on the lights halfway through the night to serve a meal in order to keep their alcohol licence. Tara’s passion for music, food and bringing people together was shaped by her childhood growing up in an Irish-Indian pub in the 90s in the middle of Australia, serving up pints of Guinness and curry on a daily basis. Driven by a love for hospitality, music and bringing people together, Kumar Klub has hosted experiences, from South Asian horror movie nights paired with Indian inspired cinema food to a recent supper club and disco collaboration with adidas uk at the Indian-Irish restaurant Shankey’s in East London. This weekend Kumar Klub hosted its first ever London St Patrick’s Day party at Foundation FM studios, transforming the space into a celebration of modern Irish culture. Showered in green foil curtains, the event featured a Guinness bar serving pints with Kumar Klub logo embossed creamy heads, DJ sets from Tara, Mango and fellow Irish selectors Onai and Shiv. The lineup also included a live open trad session hosted by Irish language collective Croí na Gaeilge, tooth gems by Claddagh Gems and a mini exhibition by the iconic instagram page Accidentally Ireland. No Kumar Klub event would be complete without grub. Kumar Klub and Vegetarian Brown Girls teamed up for a special Tayto Chaat, a fusion of Irish Tayto crisps topped with Indian street food chaat. 📷 @eoingreally
