POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

He sold mehndi cones in Mumbai as a teenager. Today he runs the app you opened this morning.

His family’s business went bankrupt, so he took any work he could find. He picked philosophy in college only because the class timings fit his job.

He built Freecharge and sold it to Snapdeal in just 22 days. He turned down a partner seat at Sequoia and started CRED from scratch.

His biggest idea is Delta 4: when something new is so much better, nobody ever goes back. That’s why nobody went back to SMS.

In June 2026, Meta made him the first Indian to lead WhatsApp globally.

What’s one thing you’ll never go back to? Tell me in the comments 👇

During a conversation on The Indian Business Podcast by Think School (@thethinkschool ), Kunal Shah, founder of CRED and global CEO and head of WhatsApp, shares his perspective on receiving feedback and dealing with criticism.

👉🏼 “Feedback Is Either Useful Or Useless”

Kunal explains that he doesn’t automatically label feedback as offensive. Instead, he looks at whether it is useful or not, believing that curiosity helps people learn from feedback rather than take it personally.

👉🏼 The Logical Indian’s Perspective

Feedback can help us grow when we approach it with an open mind. Separating the value of what is being said from how it makes us feel can help us learn, reflect, and improve.

Do you find it easy to accept feedback, even when it is difficult to hear?

What actually happens when you hit send on WhatsApp? 🔒

Your message goes through WhatsApp's servers, and WhatsApp still can't read it. Here's how:

1️⃣ Before you ever type, your friend's phone uploads public keys to WhatsApp's server.
2️⃣ Your phone fetches them. The one-time key it uses is then deleted from the server.
3️⃣ Both phones compute the same secret. The server never gets the private keys, so it can't.
4️⃣ Your phone locks a separate copy for each of their devices and sends it through a second encrypted tunnel.
5️⃣ Their phone is off? The sealed copy waits on the server for up to 30 days, and it's deleted once delivered.

That's end-to-end encryption.

Applies to personal chats. Chats with Meta services (like Meta AI) or with businesses using the Cloud API aren't end-to-end encrypted. Simplified animation · AI voice.

Send this to the friend who's sure WhatsApp reads their chats.
