We are looking for bold, original work that explores humanity’s relationship with nature and the environment, across visual and experiential mediums, including painting, sculpture, digital, interactive and immersive works.

This is not simply about depicting nature. We are looking for work that engages, questions, challenges, transforms or creates a conversation around our relationship with the environment.

🎨 @m.o.z.a.i.k.o.n led mosaic workshops inspired by Gaudí, Roman and Venetian traditions
✏️ @bruceandersonart got guests sketching, sipping, and seeing the world a little differently
💫 @karynlblasi brought it all together with art-filled lectures, conversations, and creative moments

WELCOME TO 5•17 EDITIONS — ERNESTO KUNDE 🇧🇷 🇺🇸

We are proud to welcome Brazilian-born, Miami-based contemporary artist Ernesto Kunde to the 5•17 EDITIONS family.

Born and raised on a farm in southern Brazil, Kunde’s connection to the natural world began long before his career as an artist. Today, that relationship remains at the heart of his practice. His work transforms tropical landscapes, mangroves, foliage and the architecture of Miami into bold compositions defined by saturated colour, dramatic contrast and an unmistakably contemporary energy.

Kunde has exhibited extensively throughout South Florida, including at the Boca Raton Museum of Art, Coral Gables Museum and Cornell Art Museum, with appearances during Art Basel Miami Beach week at SCOPE, CONTEXT Art Miami, Spectrum Miami and Art Wynwood. His large-scale public works include a monumental mural for the Norwegian Cruise Line terminal at PortMiami, created after Kunde won NCL's Call to Artists competition, as well as public work at Miami Beach's Sagamore Hotel.

What drew us to Ernesto was the way his work exists between fine art, nature and the built environment. His paintings can feel simultaneously organic and graphic — dense foliage and natural forms transformed through colour, shadow and abstraction into something entirely his own.

That translation of an artwork from the wall into a tactile, dimensional medium is exactly what 5•17 EDITIONS was created to explore.

We are incredibly excited to begin this collaboration and to introduce Ernesto Kunde to our collectors.
