2024: Part “ilieditsgonnabe4parts” 3

Calling this one behind the curtain. Behind the cover. Behind the festival. Behind the music. Behind the video.

To more of this in ‘25. More tests, more rehearsals, more getting in the room. The dance class, the set build, the photoshoot…

Aaaaaand again, so much love.

2024: This is looking like a three parter…

Forever stealing moments, forever stealing hearts, forever stealing craft services.

First backstage tickets, first sets, first boat session, first cut, first Maloya in London, first 20th bday with the shrimp…. Many many love.

Our 2024 was blessed with 10 releases.

From Indie-Soul, RnB, Afro Pop, Afrobeat Jazz, Latin Jazz, Nu Disco, Benga, Rumba & hip-hop.

Here to feature creativity, unrestrained. We’re grateful to be able to offer a melting pot of goodies.

Grateful for our artists and their courage on their creative journey, it’s not easy but it’s beautiful, and they do it for us all.

This year we’re taking the time to redefine our vision, and reassess our approach as an independent
label. Our mission remains the same: to sustain what we do long term, represent our artists authentically,
and give them the space to create without limits. We’ll keep you posted on how things evolve.

For now, we’ve put together a playlist with some of our top releases from 2024 alongside other standout tracks from the year. 34 gems, press play in the bio.

With love & gratitude,
Happy New Year!

"Water dropping day by day wears the hardest rock away."

Pedra Dura speaks of abuse and of becoming aware of the open-air prisons we inhabit.

Every time I listen to this song, I remember how torturous it was for me to record it. To this day, I struggle with using my voice, expressing my vulnerability and letting myself be heard and seen - oftentimes my body deems it unsafe, life-threatening even. It is literally so for so many, at both the individual and the collective levels.

As we learn to reclaim our voice and to use it
For the liberation of all,
May each of our words and actions become Loving, intentional
Water drops

🖤

“Het is alsof het liedje je omhelst.” De Amsterdamse singer-songwriter Maddy Moreah en producer en muzikant Kunuku slaan de handen ineen voor hun nostalgische nieuwe single. Op Soul Shaking benadrukken ze het belang van zelfliefde, introspectie en het niet onnodig opleggen van druk. Je luistert de track nu via de playlist van NPO Soul & Jazz! ❤️
