It’s October so I’m hitting shuffle and the first song is my drawing prompt for that day. So without further ado, it’s Rocktober Day 23

Hong Kong Victoria Harbour…
.
…a familiar skyline, a little green Star Ferry, and a touch of gold tracing the silhouette of Lion Rock.

Taking my time with the tiny windows and ink details, then softening the scene with gentle washes of colour. There’s something comforting about watching a familiar place slowly appear on paper. A little Hong Kong, one line at a time. 🇭🇰💛

I used @sakuracolorproducts Sakura Pigma Micron 03 for the skyline and fine details, paired with @kuretakezig_usa Kuretake ZIG Clean Color Real Brush pens for soft washes of colour.

#drawing #watercolor #sketching #myartjourney #lionrock An ink and watercolor drawing of Hong Kong’s skyline, with the Bank of China Tower, IFC, and Hong Kong Observation Wheel. A green Star Ferry crosses pale blue water beneath a gold-tinted outline of Lion Rock. Brush pens and a Micron 03 pen lie beside the artwork on a dark wooden table.

I love packing ACEOs and getting to share what inspired the piece. I’m glad this shimmery one has found a home 🩵

I used Daniel smith watercolors and kuretake shimmers.

These are my favorite ACEOs because they shimmer in the sun and bright light. They are all available on my eBay shop @ArtBySusi. The link is also in my bio if you’re interested 💕

I painted these with Daniel Smith watercolors and kuretake shimmer paints.

Painting my old stomping grounds in my @travelers_company sketchbook with a waterbrush and dried gouache palette from @arttoolkit

Not perfect by any means, but that comes with the territory of painting live and using a water brush as opposed to my usual setup! I still had fun with this one :)
