| Reminiscing | • • • Having a storefront location inside @au.courag was truly one of the highlights of my life. I was going through one of the toughest periods ever, yet I still managed to create something. I miss it. I mourn it. I still catch myself wondering if I should’ve tried harder to stay. The truth is I did. And I simply couldn’t. If it wasn’t for Desi (Studio Owner), this would’ve never been possible. And if it wasn’t for the countless support from so many people , people I honestly couldn’t even pay 😩 I don’t know how I would’ve grown as a brand. I made so many mistakes… with people, business opportunities, and money. But one thing I did do was give my blood, sweat, and a lot of tears to this. I literally did it broke 🥹 displaced, and unsure of what was next. Now I can admit that wasn’t a flex. I was in fight or flight. And some people got the rigid, not-so-pleasant side of me. They had no idea what I was carrying outside of the business. Still… I miss having a store to show up to. Even if I didn’t have a single customer for days. I showed up in ways I didn’t know I could. And a lot of you showed up when you didn’t have to. Thank you 🙏🏾 This brand is my baby. And although I’ve barely touched her in months, I know when we pop out again, it’ll feel like we never left. If you want something to be fast and cheap, it may not be good. I learned that the hard way. If you want something fast and good, it won’t be cheap. I definitely got that lesson. So over the years, I’ve had to make decisions when it was my art; decisions to commit to what I really wanted. It was a time to commit to the time because this wasn’t a ball outta control season while crafting this project. There were dark days, tough moments, and real life in the mix of everything while cooking the beats, to writing the lyrics, to playing every instrument that you hear on this project. All this was done from 2021 when I recorded the 1st song for this project, to the one that completed the tracklist in 2025. I wanna shout my bros out; Just The Homie, Retro Starkey, ii Trx, Kurt Kurt. The alley oops with some of the lyrics on W$H, to the vocal engineering genius heard in ‘Right Way’ and ‘I.S.T.A.Y.’ I love where my mind’s at on these instruments, thank God he made me find my own sound. I wasn’t around anyone during this time trying to take in extra vibes from here and there. I did however get to learn on my day job; touring here and there. I’ll never let that factor be unknown, because I learned from the greats in that hemisphere, but between those years I said earlier, lonely days turned into research and study. Those days yielded understanding and practice. Which allows for me to see days like this, application and demonstration. So this is 15 minutes of a body of work that has sponged up a lot of moments that motivated me to write. I know I’ve actually had a great time during every session, and meetings that crafted HONDA7.0. So it technically wasn’t cheap, but wasn’t fast either. I’m totally fine with it being good thooooo.
