Kuwait City, Kuwait 🇰🇼 2022

Standing beneath the @kuwait.towers , it’s hard not to stop and take it all in. 🇰🇼

Built between 1975 and 1979, the three towers have become one of the defining symbols of Kuwait City. The tallest tower reaches about 187 meters (614 feet) and features the famous observation sphere, while the towers were originally designed as part of Kuwait’s water distribution system.

The distinctive blue-green spheres were inspired by traditional Islamic design, but the towers have a surprisingly modern look. From the observation deck, you get incredible views across Kuwait City and the Arabian Gulf. 🌊🏙️

It’s one of those places that photographs well, but feels even more impressive standing underneath it. Another fascinating stop on the journey, and another reminder of how much history and culture can be found in unexpected places. ✈️🌍
