The making of Rebuilding the Fractured Entanglement ⚛️ Feel the power at the premiere this weekend, May 15-17 🪐 Pay-what-you-can & pay-it-forward tickets available. Inspired in part by the idea of quantum entanglement—the phenomenon in which particles remain linked across distance—the performance asks what it means to stay connected in a fractured world. 🧬 #kalamazooartists #downtownkalamazoo #moderndance #professionaldance

Earlier this year, Frozen Fields: Unexpected Growth, a collaboration made with @phygital_dancelab and @kwill.abbott screened as a part of "It So Happened" curated by @kelliebornhoft @wsushawgallery's downtown Ogden screen at the Dumke Arts Plaza in Utah. It's an honor to have work show alongside @sabinegruffat @lkimfav @alicia__little and Hope Tucker. it so happened is a colorful collection of moving-image works that unveil their own making. Each of these works takes on a different approach to image-making that blurs the lines between technological and hand-processed methods. Hope Tucker processes cyanotypes in the desert sand as a narrative antidote to radiation exposure for downwinders in Utah Canyon, Sabine Gruffat laser-cut individual frames of 35mm filmstrips, Alicia Little archives the material becomings of impromptu sculptures, Lynn Kim recreates a dream through hand-drawn animation and Jacklyn Brickman, Kelsey Paschich and Kevin Abbott document a collaborative performance. Featuring work by: Sabine Gruffat, Lynn Kim, Alicia Little, Hope Tucker, Jacklyn Brickman, Kelsey Paschich & Kevin Abbott This programming is generously supported by Weber County RAMP, the Mark E. & Lola G. Austad Endowment, Jack and Bonnie Wahlen, WSU's Lindquist College of Arts & Humanities, Ogden City Arts, Weber Student Fees and the Utah Division of Arts & Museums.

Collaborative Creation: Humans and AI in the Creative Process  Friday, September 20 at 4:30 p.m. Moderator: @jacklynbrickman Panelists: @ericsouther @kwill.abbott @d_altschul @micah_alhadeff This panel discussion explores the intersection of human creativity and artificial intelligence. Attendees can expect insights into how AI and digital technologies are transforming creative processes across disciplines at WMU, opening new possibilities for artistic innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration. Faculty from the Western Michigan University College of Fine Arts will engage in conversation around how they have turned toward AI, rather than away from, in creative endeavors, and how AI can be used as a collaborative tool to enhance the creative process.   WMU Grand Rapids is delighted to collaborate with The Right Place to host a speaker series on Artificial Intelligence as a part of Tech Week Grand Rapids 2024, a participant-driven “unconference” of events, discussions, demos, and showcases that are led by those who live and work in our community. As the proud organizer of Tech Week Grand Rapids, The Right Place works alongside other community leaders to discover ways to establish Greater Grand Rapids as a leading destination for technology and innovation. WMU’s four panel discussions feature WMU faculty and colleagues who will present their recent work around AI; all events will be hosted in the AMP Lab @ WMU at 200 Ionia Ave SW, Grand Rapids.   @wmufrosticart @interiordesign.wmu @wmucfavital @wmu_kinetic_imaging @artprize
