Hey, my friend.

I'm genuinely happy for your new chapter.

You did so much for all of us, and we'll never forget it. I never imagined that one person could make such a huge difference.

I know you'll be an important person wherever you go.

I guarantee it.

We'll always be here for you. This will always be your home.

Miss you already, my friend.

Had the pleasure of meeting and tattooing @kimdorland

From the outside: I had the chance to tattoo a walk-in client that decided to draw -on the spot- what he'd like tattooed on his hand.

My actual experience: surreal.
I got the opportunity to help a fellow artist pay homage to a loved one by tattooing this piece. And in doing so, I also got the opportunity to revive a skillset in myself that I thought I retired long ago. Its been years since I painted a Northwest coast Haida painting, but the technique I taught myself back then actually became the technical skillset I needed for this tattoo. So for me, a full-circle moment and humbling experience.

Personal thanks to @seunghyunjotattoos and all the artists @sj_tattoostudio who aided in teaching me along the way throughout my tattoo apprenticeship. I'm forever grateful for the opportunity and lessons, I'm excited for the next chapter and look forward to all the surreal encounters it'll bring.

Walk-ins welcome and bookings available by contacting info@sjtattoostudio.com

First tattoo as an apprentice @sj_tattoostudio

Circles, packed in black, with a cherry on top of straight lines. Essentially all the notoriously hard skills to learn, all in one. Go figure 🫠 Just give me a dark night of the soul why don't you?

Needless to say, lessons were learned.

Bruises courtesy of friendly fire in a mosh pit btw
