My last summer in NY was one for the books! So many laughs, meet ups, connections and exploring new places. I miss my people and community so bad, but looking forward to what Cali has to offer 🤍

After more than a year of planning, strategizing, and hard work, our baby is finally here! Serving Perspectives was born out of our love for each other and conversation. Come listen, chill, heal, learn, unlearn, and most definitely laugh with us. Season 1, Episode 1 dropping soon! 👀💁🏾‍♀️💁🏾‍♀️

Thank you to every single person who helped us bring this dream to life. Y’all have no idea how much you mean to us. Season 1 couldn’t have been done without you all!

In July, I put out a feeler to see if there was interest in learning how to DJ. I thought it would be a great way to stay connected to my craft while staying home with my daughter. What I didn’t anticipate was the divine energy that came back. I received an overwhelming number of applications but decided to focus on teaching women, specifically women of color.

This past week, we celebrated the graduation of Cohort 1, which includes seven incredible women you should follow because they’re about to make waves on and off the dance floor. Cohort 2 is already in session and came out to show their support. And as we speak, Cohort 3 is being booked—so slide into my DMs if you’re interested!

This journey has been surreal. I didn’t expect to ‘give birth’ again so soon, but that’s exactly how it feels. I feel like I’ve created my most natural habitat: a space rooted in women’s safety, community building, and DJing—three things I’ve dedicated my entire adulthood to.

Next month, we’re officially launching @wearethedj, and I couldn’t be more excited to guide a new generation of women who will represent and resist through music. Pleasure activism, it turns out, is very real.

And shoutout DJ Sweet Potato, my patient TA, who is featured in the last slide.
