my first release in 7 months, ‘The Village’ is now yours :)

I wrote this song after a Boxing Day lunch with our family friends. One of them was about to have their first kid & another was moving away but there we were, reduced to our childlike selves competing in some board game on an outdoor table in the summer heat.

It was one of those moments where you notice how circumstances change but hearts don’t.

We often refer to the collection of our families as ‘the village’ & these lyrics of ‘it took a village to raise me’ rang even more true because of those details.

thank you to @kyearnot @charly.oakley @jaxgileswebb & @kash_music for singing these big vocals in the bridge with me xx feels really cool to have my current village immortalised in this way 🫶💕
