I’ve genuinely been working Day and Night for the last 4 years and for some reason I still feel like I haven’t accomplished anything. Have I given my art blood,sweat and tears….yes but it’s not enough. It means nothing when my words are being silenced solely off the color of my skin it means nothing when we were promised our 40 Acres. It means nothing when the African Grove, Negro ensemble Accompany, The New Federal, The Lafayette Theatre isn’t even talked about or praised for their sacrifices. This world truly wants to shut us up black folk and POC so what are we going to do about it?
Answer: Be Activist who make art,
Agitate, Instigate, Be Uncomfortable, Make the opressers uncomfortable, Educate yourself, Hold your self with Power, Smile, Get Active when a mf tries you, but most importantly
BLACK ART NOW.

2025: A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder

"I'm DEFINITELY not getting into Gentleman's Guide..."
- Henry a few days before fall auditions

Going into my senior year at this school, I did not know what to expect when it came to performing. And like I said in the quote above, being part of not only a CSU Mainstage musical production but also the collaboration with the Schwob School of Music was not on my bingo card. In many ways I sell myself short on being part of a cast like this one so when I saw that I got a callback, it was nice but I really did not expect to be put in... and then the cast lists were announced. Despite some of last semester's lows at the beginning of fall, working on this show was a joy and seeing everything come together for both the performance and technical sides was beautiful.

To our spectacular Director and Assistant Director, thanks for betting on me to be in this show and I hope my performance didn't let you down.

To our wonderful Music Director, I cannot imagine our show sounding as wonderful as it did without you and I hope your experience with us was wonderful.

To our hard working Stage Managers and Production Team, thank you all for contributing to this show in ways that we could not have imagined and know that your work and effort will forever be treasured in my heart.

To my fellow castmates... man, I love y'all. We've have some ups and downs but the performances as a whole transcend anything that might have brought us down in the moment. Each of you are talented beyond measure and I cannot wait to see where life takes all of you ♡

And with that, my CSU Theatre career came to a satisfying conclusion... as an actor. Job's not finished and there is so much in store that I cannot wait for you all to see as my love for theatre shows no sign of slowing down. Until then, this show was a pleasure to be part of and I would not change a single thing... besides performing for more than one week and also the AI backgrounds because we have talented art majors right there in the building beside our own... but we move!

This show was incredible. I don't say it lightly when I tell you this was probably the best show I've ever done. What an honor to have stage managed for this cast, crew, and director. I have learned so much from this production, and I have gained so much confidence. Plus, I get to add something really cool to my resume 😂 I won't keep this too long, but may I just say that this show was fast, fierce, and fucking hilarious. And may every single person I worked with go kick ass on everything else they go on to do. I am so proud of everyone, and it was amazing to work with all of you. 💜
