dear swimming,

for the last 12 years, you have absolutely changed my life in ways I never imagined. while there were seasons of defeat and discouragement, we continued to push forward, and I am forever grateful that we did. thank you for the countless memories. thank you for helping me exponentially grow as an athlete. thank you for helping me to cultivate such a strong passion for a sport that it brings me to tears to have it end. thank you for my family & support system who carried me through on the toughest days. thank you for bringing me @cnswim & for the experiences it brought to me. most importantly, thank you for bringing me my people. thank you for Ben & Aaron & for their willingness to believe in a scared, intimidated Freshman that greatly lacked confidence. thank you for my teammates (my best friends) & for their constant encouragement & support. thank you especially for bringing me Will & for the way he pushes me to always pursue a better version of myself. I once read that “missing something is the best sad feeling you’ll ever have.” now, I understand the depth of that statement. while this chapter of our story is closing, we could not have asked for a sweeter or more perfect ending. i will forever carry the life-lessons you taught me in every other pursuit. little us would be so proud. you have truly been one of the biggest blessings of my life.
