They paused their whole lives and showed up for me! 😭 Feeling like the luckiest girl in the world to have celebrated with my ride-or-dies (my girl, my bestie, and my cousin who traveled all the way! ✈️💖). The most important thing in life are family and friends and when friends become family you’ve hit the jackpot!! Everyday I am grateful that in the summer of ‘95 my mum forced me to get on a trampoline! I am very fortunate to have done what I love everyday since! From the amazing team I belong to back home to all my friends old and new the absolute best thing about our sport are the connections we make all around world!! I have had the best summer!

I officially turned 40 at 22:32 on July 9th 2024. The 32 minutes are note worthy as 4 decades earlier my amazing dad just missed last orders at the Carters because of my first of many late arrivals!

My 40th birthday started on 8.4.23! Luke and I went shopping for his 30th bday present from me & true to my only child form we somehow ended up leaving with his 30th and my 40th presents to eachother in the bag!! …I was set up to be on time at least once in the coming 772 days of celebration… 🤔

For the rest of 2023 I happily let my favourite person on this planet, take front and centre so that we and all our loved ones could celebrate his 30th trip around the sun! We walked up a mountain to see Machu Piccu, travelled Central America, visited old pals in the states & cruised the Caribbean!

Friday August 2nd 2024!! A night to remember for everyone that was there at the 4th place party!!! 🥳

Rewind… to May 2024. To my gorgeous mum who guides me every single day! …I bought her a sphinx cat for her 60th! She didn’t want it! We kept the cat… she then bought 2 & to keep up and Venus company we’ve just bought another!!

Onto the big day Tuesday July 9th 2024… Wimbledon QF day, from the Treehouse to Court No1 watching the eventual champion Alcaraz

Fast forward past the Olympics and onto Egypt where we hired a riverboat for a week of celebrating with almost all my favourite people!! We thought we had enough Champagne to fill the Nile but Sue and I, true to form, drank us dry half way through!

I thought my official celebrations ended on 22nd August 2024 but there was one more surprise in store… I feel truly blessed that I stared coaching so young and the first group kids that I was kid coaching are now my friends, family and loved ones!! …Sophia Singleton-Scott sprung a final flurry on me whisking me off to my spiritual home… Champagne for a belated surprise 40th present!! 🍾🥂

What a year (or 2) my 40th trip around the sun was! Thank you to everyone that helped me celebrate! I love you all & am grateful for you all everyday!!!

Life is what you make it, spend your most precious commodity wisely because you don’t have a single second to waste 🫶🏾
