A few BTS moments from Pole to Pole’s Bhutanese episode. What a magical country you are 🇧🇹 even getting there feels like an adventure, by having to weave through the Himalayan hilltops.

I hope you all enjoy meeting the exceptional @denkarsgetaway who is incredibly passionate about her country. Denkar journeyed with us to Laya three times in total during our research and prep for the episode. And to our brilliant onscreen scientist, Dacher Keltner, whose passion for people, feelings, and emotions runs so deep you can imagine the conversations we had on those long car rides. 🌈

We were fortunate to spend time with Lopen Sonam at Gangtey Monastery, one of our onscreen Bhutanese monks, who has the biggest Buddha heart. Thank you @farmer_sangay for welcoming us into your home and sharing your work and passions. And of course, Aum Passang in Laya ❤️ what a find for @tom.fulford to stumble across you on one of our recces. Language may have been a barrier, but the love and energy you exude has no boundaries.

Oh and I had to include the 3rd and last @tiktok I’ve ever done with @aidan_up_there whilst in Laya (one of the highest villages in the Himalayas)

Finally, if you manage to get there, the last two pictures show where I got to sit upfront with the pilots flying out of Bhutan post our last day of filming, again magical. Seeing Everest from the front row seat will be imprinted in my memory.

Bhutan, you are something truly special - thank you for having us - how lucky were we ✨
