#matchboxtwenty #matchboxtwentybrasil #euamomatcboxtwenty

My answer: 15 yrs old🤯😉 in 1997 during my first concert at the Hammerstein ballroom in NYC. I was so happily surprised when he stepped up to the mic!

While I wasn’t surprised this time (but eagerly awaiting it), my heart was still overcome with how beautifully and heartfelt he delivers his parts! These voices belong together! And yes, I cried 🥺❤️#mustbelonely #matchboxtwenty #match30xtwenty #hang #yourselforsomeonelikeyou #kylecook

Song of the day is John Waite’s ‘Bluebird Cafe’ written by John Waite and Don Lowery. The song ‘Bluebird Cafe’ was released on John’s 2011 album Rough and Tumble’. Here John plays at Hard Rock Live, Rockford, Illinois, on March 8th, 2025 with Kyle Cook of Matchbox Twenty on electric guitar (Kyle also collaborated on Rough & Tumble…a REALLY cool album!😎🎸). Ok, so I know the algorithm says my reels are too long and people aren’t looking at them & blah, blah, blah🤭, but how can I not put as much of a song or backstory out there when John Waite speaks from the heart, in his own words and sings so many beautiful songs like ‘Bluebird Cafe’ ? It’s impossible! The backstory of this song, John & Kyle’s rapport with each other and John’s admiration of Kyle’s playing are really something special. I hope you enjoy this song of the day as much as I do❤️ (you can watch the full video in its entirety at the link below.)

John Waite’s collaboration with Kyle Cook of Matchbox-Twenty on John’s album “Rough & Tumble” was such a hit with everyone, I chose another song they co-wrote from the same album for today’s “Song Of The Day”. The song is called “Evil” and it is🔥 Here’s an excerpt from an earlier album review: “Rough & Tumble has a stripped down, organic rawness to it. Credit for this new direction must go in part to Matchbox Twenty guitarist KYLE COOK, who was Waite’s songwriting partner for the past year and a half. The combination of Waite’s rich, dignified vocals and Cook’s Southern honkytonk Strat is both SEXY and STUNNING. The album is downright cool” I’ll say! 🎶🎸❤️‍🔥🔥

Liam and I had such an amazing time last night with my brother @iamstalkingkyle of @matchboxtwenty coming through with the ticket hookup to not only see him kill it on guitar, playing for the incredible John Waite but taking in the rest of the concert with us in the seats to see @foreignerlive and @styxtheband put on a masterpiece of a show. So easy to forget how many classic hit records they have between all of them, collectively. Couldn’t have asked for a better night! 🙏❤️🎸
