If I were at the vet's office, I know I would be categorized as "food motivated". So in honor of Fat F**k Friday (aka what I call every Friday, because you made it to the end of the week and deserve whatever you want so TREAT YO SELF), please enjoy this collage of food and drink and company I was really excited to experience the past few weeks. :)

Bonus points if you can tell which one we made ourselves!

I turned 40 today! I celebrated early with an Icons & Divas themed party. Folks showed up & showed OUT. They truly understood the assignment. 💚

2025 seems to be coming to a close. And yet, life is rarely so neatly packaged. It is, however, symbolic to reflect on everything this year was and wasn’t—and metaphorically put it to bed.

It has been a hard year. Turmoil seemed to trump triumph. My highs, like a drug, were fleeting. Fruity was born into this world. I found solace in the quiet moments of travel. Freedom and boundaries were tested. I worked under challenging conditions. I visited beautiful places. I painfully learned to trust myself more and rely on external validation less (I am still learning this).

I found myself the most broken after my mom’s death—and was honest with myself about whether I was, wanted to, or could phone it in. I learned a lot about “performance” and the ways in which it no longer serves me. I was surprised by the connections that made me feel wanted and welcomed. I was and am still devastated over the connections that I wanted and haven’t received in return.

Questioning has brought answers and deeper questions along with them. I’ve wondered what was wrong with me, only to realize the truth: nothing at all. I’ve been reminded of my humanity so many times that it should be tattooed on my forehead. I’ve felt deflated in the most beautiful of places. I’ve found light in the darkest corners. My body has felt run down, restless—and it has felt strong, light, wise. Above and below, I’ve witnessed birth, death, and everything in between.

There is meaning to it all, and I keep reaching for it.

First pageant complete!

I had a ton of fun competing for the inaugural Mx Alphabet City Laughs title. A huge thank you to:

💙 @alphabetcitylaughs for putting it all together
💙 to our lovely hosts @crystal.tyler.nyc and @mznancyxo
💙 to @mx.totoy for keeping us soundtracked and sounding great
💙 to our judges @lady.bushra @alicialove0 and @mercedezthedolljacobs for their glamour, advice and presence
💙 to my fellow contestants who continuously inspired and entertained us across two preliminaries and a finale - @dyke.piazza @ratcatxoxo and our Mx Congeniality @shesus.christnyc
💙 to the truly fabulous and hilarious semifinalists @themxbee and @judyandthegiantpeach
💙 to our Jester Runner-Up, a fantastic artist I've seen grow exponentially in such a short time @cryin_in_public
👑 and to our winner @amaya_dabaddest_ who every time I see her perform makes me smile, laugh, shout out "BITCH!" or some combo of the three. You deserve all the blessings your hard work brings...and next time I see you it's on sight. 😘 (Hugs and finger wags, that is.)

Extra special thanks to Ma, Keith, Alex and Megan for coming out to support (on a school night!) and to @us.adey for enduring the nonstop planning, rambling, stressing, mimed lipsync prep and for helping to put baby together 🥰

I haven't even hit a year of performing again, but definitely feeling all the growth and love that comes with actively being on stage once more.

Life hands out crowns to people when it does. If today's not your day, be your own crown. (Or sneak a mini one under your dress and crown yourself.) 💙💙💙💙
