Happy Star Trek Day! 🖖

60 years of Star Trek — and I’m very happy to have spent a small part of that history making aliens.

As someone who grew up in a Star Trek household, it’s still pretty surreal to be a part of it.

I first joined the Star Trek world on Discovery, and since then I’ve worked on Discovery, Section 31 and Starfleet Academy, where I was the Prosthetics Department Head — and the first woman to hold that position on a Star Trek television series.

There have been a lot of very early mornings, late nights (that are also early mornings!), bald caps, brow covers, glue, paint and remover — but also some incredible artists, actors and crews, a lot of good laughs, and thankfully, Sean’s Jura coffee machine keeping us going along the way.

Getting to transform people for a living is a pretty fun job. Getting to turn them into aliens is even better.

Happy 60th, Star Trek. 🖖

Best parking spot on the lot. Right behind my trailers and in front of the main stage. Trust me, saving a 5 minute walk makes all the difference for those 2 am starts. 😎

The face Kyle makes while concentrating on doing a good job while simultaneously saying something so ridiculous I have to stop my application because I’m laughing too much.

Little BTS TikTok… Once again I want to thank everyone involved in S4 E3 of “Strange New Worlds”… I thanked Yana (our director) in the last post but want to give due props to the make up and FX team @gaslightstudio and @kyledoustmufx who had me in his very capable and talented hands for hours a day (the time flew by though).
And though they likely get tagged constantly the entire bridge crew cast (specifically @ansonmount and @rebeccaromijn , our direct scene partners for welcoming me and the other Rodaxian’s aboard)
It took everything for me to not nerd out completely on set!
Thanks all!

Me: Lemme just throw on a little makeup 💄

My life has been so OUT OF THIS WORLD lately that here’s a throwback to some STAR TREK bts. 🚀👽

My call time was 5am and this epic transformation into Dr Gyud took approximately 4 1/2 hours. 🤯
