Year 28 pushed and changed me in ways I never expected. I am so grateful to my village of friends and incredible husband for supporting me, and helping me ring in the last year of my 20s with a Galentine’s day themed birthday. I love you all more than words can say. Cheers to being twenty-fine!

2025, what a year you were. As a young gay boy growing up in central Texas, I felt so much pressure to conform and mask parts of myself that at some point along the way, I forgot how to just “be.”
From my hometown besties, to long distance friends, to the Austin Gay Men’s Chorus, you have truly been a light in the dark, and there are no words that capture the depth of my gratitude. Through every low or setback I’ve experienced this year, I have been carried and uplifted by your kindness, compassion, and acceptance and for the first time in a long time, I finally feel free to be myself.
Here’s to more memories in 2026 🥂

The Smith Wedding Part II

I got to marry my best friend on July 23rd, 2025.
To love you is the greatest thing to ever happen to me.

We are still reeling from this trip. Our friends made the trek across the world, our officiant @devin_drew crafted a story, and the week was full of non-stop love, laughter, dancing, drinking, and terrible Italian.
We will remember this trip for the rest of our lives.

We decided our dream wedding was spending a full week with the people we call our family. Not just by blood, but by something stronger. Part one is dedicated to them, our chosen family. Our support system, our best times, our favorite humans.
Thank you for traveling across the world to celebrate us. Thank you for being there over the course of our relationship, and most importantly, thank you for bringing an unimaginable level of energy into the week.

On New Year’s Eve, I turned 29 years old. It’s a strange time in life. I feel old, but I know I’m young. I’m more empathic, yet cynical at the same time. There’s that waining social pressure to have life “figured out” but it just doesn’t work that way for everyone. Nobody prepares you on navigating your late 20’s. You grieve lost love ones, faded friendships, and celebrate new life and opportunities.

In 2024, l learned so much about myself and the life I want to build. I’ve learned to quiet feelings of inadequacy, invest in my mental health, and really believe in myself and capabilities. Freelancing isn’t easy, but every challenge has been a chance to grow and I’m excited for what this year’s projects will bring.

This past year, I traveled, worked hard (sometimes too hard), and experienced moments that will stay with me forever. Most importantly, I married the most beautiful and incredible woman—my life partner who makes every struggle lighter and every success sweeter. I’m endlessly grateful to have someone who believes in me even more than I believe in myself.

To everyone who shaped my 2024—thank you. You made it unforgettable. Here’s to an even better 2025, filled with growth, challenges, and moments that remind us why it’s all worth it 🤍🫵🏾 Cheers to the last year of my 20’s!
