Hey gang, hope everyone’s having a wonderful Fall. I’ve got a few days off from traveling, I’m busy doing my 2025 taxes. Yep, the extension runs out Oct. 15th, gotta get ‘er done!

I’m really looking forward to tonight’s radio show and visiting with my old friend Kyle Frederick. Kyle will join me in the studio to perform a couple times with the talented Ian Lovelace and play tracks from his new album, ‘The Force Majure.’

Frederick’s eight studio album, The Force Majeure was recorded at Cash Cabin, the studio built by icon Johnny Cash in 1979. The project focuses on the confounding moral realities of our time, and features guest performances by Michael Webb, Jenee Fleenor, Odessa Settles, Jonell Mosser, Ashley Cleveland, Heidi Gluck and a feature vocal performance by Sandra McCracken. The album is the first of Frederick’s catalog to be available on vinyl.

Our artist spotlight this week is Robin Trower and his first two iconic releases, ‘Twice Removed From Yesterday’ (1973) and ‘Bridge Of Sighs’ (1974).

Robin Trower is an influential English rock guitarist, songwriter, and producer who initially rose to fame in the late 1960s with the progressive rock band Procol Harum. Renowned for his atmospheric, blues-infused style, his expressive Fender Stratocaster work often draws comparison to Jimi Hendrix. Trower achieved massive commercial and critical heights after launching his own power trio, the Robin Trower Band, in the 1970s

Our Psychedelic Snack, courtesy of The Mellow Mushroom, is from Jimi Hendrix’s 1971 classic “Cry of Love’ & “Broken Baricades’ by Procol Harum, featuring Robin Trower.

Please join Mr. E and me for The Lowdown Hoedown pre-show from 6:30-6:45 CST. That happens ‘live’ on The ‘official’ Lowdown Hoedown Facebook page.

‘The Lowdown Hoedown’ airs from 7:00-10:00 CST each Monday night on WDNS-FM and brought to you by our friends at The Mint Gaming Hall, The Mellow Mushroom, Stocktone Custom Shop, and All Things Guitar Lessons Studio. Download the new D93 phone app and listen from anywhere!

Had the honor of sitting down with the great Kyle Frederick here in Nashville. Kyle’s not only a killer songwriter, but also a seasoned performer and producer who’s worked with legends like Byron House, Clay Walker, Foster & Lloyd, Joe Sun, and so many others.

He shared some priceless advice about songwriting and the music business that I’ll carry with me moving forward.

Big thanks to you, Kyle, for taking the time it was inspiring and a real good hang!.
