Going into this extension of @heauxchurch with so much gratitude! 🥹 Four years ago, I went to my director @lisabierman and said I wanted to create a show. Something that merged Messy Mondays with my love of theater. Two years ago, the path to that vision became clearer. With the help of a brilliant team of artists @arsnovanyc @lenawaithe and @feeldco we built @heauxchurch 💒 To have it be so loved by our audiences and critics makes my heart swell. To be extended is a gift because I love doing this show! It is a love letter to every person who has ever felt dismissed or discarded because they were different from the pack. At Heaux Church you can come as you are! There are a few shows left (closing 11/21) and I hope you can make it! Also this THURSDAY @plantkween joins me for a special Heaux Church x @tellmesomethingmessy talk back after the show! Use code MESSY for $15 off general admission! 💗🥳💒🍩

She’s saying what I know many have thought! So grateful for my guests that say the quiet part out loud. This convo with @kylejune (and @__bighnichi__ ) about the pursuit of a relationship, societal pressure, and our own happiness stirred me up in the best way. It has me thinking about what are the questions we can ask others that isn’t about their romantic life or when they’re having kids? there’s so much more to who we are than if we are “single or taken”. so grateful for the vulnerability. link in bio and stories, or listen wherever you get your podcasts. AND just in case you haven’t heard it yet today, you are so deeply loved. ily 🫶🏿👩🏿 @tellmesomethingmessy

it’s no secret that I’ve been estranged from my mother/family for over a decade. her religious beliefs clash with my queerness, and so boundaries had to be erected. because of that, holidays are always tough. but what has saved my heart, and life, over the last thirteen or so years, are my chosen family. I am so grateful to @__bighnichi__ and @kylejune and my entire community (including you) for making space for me to be who I am. For embracing me as I am. For loving who I am and am becoming. It has saved my life time and time again. and I am not being hyperbolic. Truly. I’ll never be able to express enough gratitude, and I’ll never stop trying. thank you. ily. happy heauxlidays 🫶🏿

☃️☃️ this Christmas heauxliday, I’m hanging with my chosen family @__bighnichi__ and @kylejune 😁🥰 we play a Christmas themed round of Smash or Pass, swap messy stories, and dive deep into what it means to be “queer enough” and the pressure to be in a romantic relationship. I can’t express enough gratitude for the vulnerability and wisdom my siblings brought to the mic. link in bio/stories or listen wherever you get your podcasts. ☃️☃️
