As the entire coronavirus debacle began to unfold in front of all of us, it quickly became clear that my last semester of college wouldn't be exactly how I imagined it. My senior seminar that I spent all my energy on, Narrative Collaborative Filmmaking, had us cancel when only one of our three films got to be made. Dance Marathon, one of the most formative experiences I ever had at college, had to be moved online at the last minute. My graduation got moved to August, most of the people I planned on spending the rest of the semester with had to leave, and now I'm sitting here at the end of my quarantine after receiving a positive for COVID-19 (I am fine, fully recovered). Gainesville is still. Life is crazy.
The only thing I'm sure is that everyone in these photos, with a lot of people not in the photos, have meant the world to me in my time here at UF. As I look to close a chapter of my life, I can look back with confidence that I never woulda made it if I wasn't surrounded by these incredible souls. As for graduating in April - so long, UF, and thanks for all the fish. To everyone in these photos and so many more that aren't - thank you for sharing this journey with me.

Work, school, communications, etc. are all going online these days. But you can’t really teach film production online. I‘m heartbroken that my @ufjschool seniors had to postpone their films. They spent the entire semester preparing for these three production weekends: an application process, interview, preliminary meetings, auditions, casting, location scouting and 7 weeks of pre-production. These photos capture their first film shoot—they killed it!—and our Zoom meeting announcing that we had to halt production. Even though my heart is heavy, I’m so proud of them and feel hopeful that we can continue to create amazing things together sooner rather than later.
