POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

And that's a wrap for #AmericanSon. It's always so bittersweet to close a show, but this one especially meant so much in the time and place we find ourselves in. Thank you to everyone who came out to see this show and thank you to @friendshipcommunityplace for being such an amazing partner in this important story we were telling.

We'll see you in December for Holiday Spirits at the @driehausmuseum

This is my love letter to September 🤎

Cheers to what has been the single most busy month I’ve had all year. I am fucking exhausted from directing two shows simultaneously to being in two weddings to working multiple jobs just to eat the next day—but damn am I not so fulfilled right now. Sorry to everyone I’ve been MIA with; the curse is almost lifted and I can hang out again. I love getting to be a working artist, I love how much this city shows up for each other, I love protecting and uplifting the voices of the silenced through my work, and I love that I get to keep waking up to do that every single day. I’ve spent a long time getting to a place where I want to wake up to see the next day, and I’m grateful to everyone who’s been along on the journey so far to get there.

Sappy American Son post to come, but I couldn’t help throwing my some of cast(s) in here a few times. The artists I’ve been blessed to meet on this process are actually incredible. More to come!

Check out these shots from our understudy dress rehearsal of American Son last week. It's unbelievable the amount of talent packed into this crew. For one night only (barring any illnesses, accidents or other crises), catch these actors in action. Show starts at 7:30 p.m. @friendshipcommunityplace

Details and tickets available via the link in our bio. As always tickets are pay-what-you-will.

Join us on Monday evening for a special understudy of performance of American Son. These actors have been working hard for roles they're only guaranteed to perform once, but who are vitally important to this production.

Leading up to Monday night's show, we're introducing you to these great understudies. Next up is Kyle Roth who is understudying the role of Officer Paul Larkin.

Kyle is super excited to make his Ghostlight Ensemble Theatre debut! He was in the inaugural production of the Village Theatre’s Artemis Books & The Well Meaning Man (JJ) in Chicago.

He’s originally from New Orleans, studying musical theatre at the prestigious arts high school - New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. He furthered his studies at Ball State University receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in acting. He would like to thank his partner, friends, family, teachers and mentors for always believing and supporting him. @kylerothhh
